The Government of Madhya Pradesh on August 10, 2026, issued the Madhya Pradesh Upkar (Sanshodhan) Adhiniyam, 2026 to further amend the Madhya Pradesh Upkar Adhiniyam, 1981.
The following amendments have been stated:
• In Section 9 of the Madhya Pradesh Upkar Adhiniyam, 1981 (No. 1 of 1982), in sub- section (1), at the end of the proviso, for full stop colon shall substituted and thereafter the following proviso shall be added, namely:-
"Provided further that the State Government may, by notification, exempt any instrument or class of instruments from the liability and payment of cess payable under this part.".
Repeal and saving.
(1) The Madhya Pradesh Upkar (Sanshodhan) Adhyadesh, 2026 (No. 2 of 2026) is hereby repealed.
(2) Notwithstanding the repeal of the said Ordinance, anything done or any action taken under the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the corresponding provision of this Act.
